How Zeke’s Race Car Shop Was Born
One day on our way home, Zeke asked me if we could stop for Panda Express. I told him, “No, buddy, we just had Panda the other day.” Determined, he replied, “But I want Panda!” I joked back, “Well, do you have any money?”
He fished around in his seat and said, “I have some coins in here somewhere.” Then came the big question: “Daddy, can you make money?”
I smiled and said, “I’ll show you how to make money.” His eyes lit up. “How do I make money, Dada?”
That’s when the idea hit me. “What if you took pictures of your race cars, put them on a t-shirt, and sold the shirts?” His face lit up. “Yeah, Dada! Can we take pictures of the race cars when we get home?”
“After we eat, buddy,” I promised.
As soon as we got home, we snapped pictures of his race cars, and then we headed to the computer. He was buzzing with excitement. “I’m so excited!” he said as he watched me work. A few minutes later, the first design was ready. I called him over to see, and his reaction was everything. “Yay, Dada! Can we go get them now?”
Five minutes later, he was back. “Dada, can we get our shirts now?”
And just like that, Zeke’s Race Car Shop was born—a brand built on curiosity, creativity, and the dream of a little boy who wanted to learn how to make his own money.
